I loved reading this. Remembering is so important. I laughed and laughed about the dogs too remembering taking my Dachshund out in the snow. The only thing I'd have liked to hear more about was what *did* happen to your daughter? She didn't become a quadriplegic but did she experience any medical issues or need any surgery? Also when the ceiling fell on her! A ceiling fell on my downstairs neighbors when they were sleeping (this is when I was growing up). It turned out it was because the previous occupant of the apartment used to bang on the ceiling with a stick when he was angry. The new tenants had huge bruises and their faces were covered with bandages for a while. They sued the previous tenant.
